General Accounting (GA) is committed to providing outstanding service to the campus community by efficiently processing accounting transactions associated with the University. Our primary purpose is to provide prompt, reliable and accurate financial information and ensure compliance with funding restrictions, federal and state regulations and required external reporting. We are responsible for the preparation and fair presentation of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), the common set of accounting principles, standards and procedures that companies use to compile their financial statements. Additionally, we coordinate with external auditors annually for the review and audit of financial records and reports.
